The purpose of the Miles for Smiles event is to bring the entire Northwest Ohio dental community together for a day of fun, fitness and fundraising.
Who: EVERYONE!!!! Dentists, Hygienists, Assistants,Staff, Friends, Family and Patients
What: A 5K run/walk to raise funds for access to care, the first year recipient will be the Dental Center of Northwest Ohio. Since 1910, this nonprofit organization that has been providing primary oral health services to area children, adults and seniors with limited access to oral health care.
When: May 14, 2011
Where: Olander Park, Sylvania, Ohio
Why: To raise awareness, funds and donated services to provide much needed dental care for Toledo area residents who struggle with access to dental care. Our community can work together to “give back” to these underserved residents in the Toledo area.
Goals:
- To compliment the volunteer and fundraising programs offered by the Dental Center of Northwest Ohio such as the Options Program and Give Kids a Smile.
- To establish an annual event that could grow year after year.
- To improve your health, have fun with your entire office, and give back to the community.
How you can get involved:
- Donate one case of dental treatment.
- Support the event; buy the T-shirts for yourself and your staff.
- Have sponsors for each “K” of the 5K race.
- Spread the word within the dental community and to friends and family.
- Encourage corporate sponsors.
- Be a volunteer.
- Reserve the date and look for our booths at Spring Clinic 2008, 2009 and browse our future website for more information.
